As I was arranging my makeup stuff I found this cute Essence Long Lasting Matte Lip Gloss lying in my drawer which I had completely forgotten to review it. Essence products are known because of their affordable prices. Most of the products are really cheap and of good quality.
Lets start away with Essence Long Lasting Lip Gloss. Firstly this are
not liquid matte lipsticks these are completely different from the NYX matte
lip creams too. So this lip gloss comes in round plastic clear tube with black
cap. It has a flat applicator which
helps in easy application.
I picked up three shades which are VELVET ROSE, SOFT NUDE and SILKY RED
The formula is really creamy and non drying. The texture of
this lipgloss is soft like mousse and non sticky.
They don’t stain your lips. It claims to be long lasting but
like a regular gloss this doesn’t last for more then 2 hrs. And if you eating
or drinking you need to touch up. This lipgloss are transferable. Color pay off is excellent. This glosses
are more like matte lip creams which give a semi matte effect without drying
your lips. It doesn't moisturise your lips. It also accentuates dry patches on lips. It doesn’t settle into fine
lines or cracks. Having such a creamy formula its bound to smudge or bleed. I
was really disappointed when the lipstick was almost on my lip lines. Due to its mousse like texture sometimes it
gets streaky while application. But you can layer them to build the opacity
My favorite color
among this is Silky red its truly pigmented rich red color. All shades give
maximum opacity with two coats. Gives coverage on pigmented lips too. The
formula doesn’t dry even after 1 hr. It does feel light on lips but the creamy
formula makes it little slippery. So if you not use to creamy formulas this is
going to bother you until it just settles down.
VELVET ROSE its rose pink nude shade I was disappointed with
this color as it didn’t go well on my fair skin tone I wouldn’t recommend this
to anyone as this shade also gave me streaky application.
SOFT NUDE is basically a complete nude shade it does go well
on fair skin tone but complete NO for medium to dusky tones.
SILKY RED is a cool tone red color bright and beautiful red.
This can go well on every skin tone.
They are available at very affordable prices so you can definitely
get one of them.
Overall I was not too happy with this lip gloss as it claims
to be long lasting which is totally false. Also I didn’t like its formula way
too creamy. I wish it would have been like NYX matte lip creams. I wouldn’t repurchase it again. If I was happy
with my purchase than it was just for Silky Red lip gloss. I am also not fond of lip glosses but if you like creamy formulas you can try this matte effect lipgloss.
Tip you can apply them and blot with tissue to remove the excess
and you can get beautiful stained lips.
